It’s Much More Than Just The Music! There is something quite unique about marching band. Each time the band performs, there is a special opportunity where students experience a sense of community. They realize that the sum of who they are together is far greater than anyone individually. PCMB offers a sense of esteem through unity and expression. Students understand more than ever the importance of working together. There are challenges of high performance standards and consistent hard work at practices. We discover how achieving excellence is a process, not an event. Park Center’s Marching Band provides a “family” to which everyone belongs. It is a place to learn values. We all depend upon each other in our pursuit of excellence. Members learn about responsibility, doing their fair share, and working toward a common goal. We value and respect one another rather than make judgments. Marching Band is about teaching life and life lessons. It’s learning to function in society. It’s about tolerance and harmony, both musical and personal. It’s laughter, it’s memories, it’s hard work and most of all, it’s the discovery of self-work and self-skills for each and every one of you. Frequently, friendships develop that are life-long.
